Iron Maiden has sold over 100 million records worldwide through its 17 studio albums, live concert DVDs, and CDs. Iron Maiden became one of the best-selling metal bands ever due to this.
The band formed in 1975 by bassist and principal songwriter Steve Harris, and their debut lineup went on to record two albums. The band's meteoric rise to fame began with the release of 1982's Number of the Beast, which marked the arrival of vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The other two main members of Iron Maiden were the guitarists Harris and Dickinson. By the time of their fourth album, Piece of Mind, the band had completed its iconic lineup with the addition of drummer Nicko McBrain. Eddie the 'Ed, Iron Maiden's mascot, is a huge part of the band's elaborate stage performances, featuring pyrotechnics and lights.
Since 2001, tribute band Maiden USA has been performing in the Texas Gulf Coast area. This impersonator has exceptional musical chops, so they can accurately recreate the hits and live shows. Eddie, the Maiden mascot, has been known to make an appearance.
