Madeon is the stage name to Hugo Pierre Leclercq (May 30, 1994). Madeon is a French DJ, singer, record producer, songwriter, and musician. He is from Nantes, France. Madeon started to compose music when he was only 11. He produced Deamon in the hands-up music genre and began producing house-music in 2010. Madeon is famous for his remixes and even won "The Island" by Pendulum, a remix competition.
Madeon gained his first full public attention through a Youtube video, which was uploaded on July 11, 2011. The video was about "Pop Culture," in which he performed 39 various popular songs in the form of mash-up in real-time. He used a Novation Launchpad for this. This Youtube video by Madeon earned a million hits in just a few days of its upload. It got viral with 6 million+ views in a few days.
“Adventure” was a debut studio album by Madeon, which was released on March 27, 2015. This studio album gained support by a 22-stop North American tour. His first EP was “The City,” published in 2012. The very first live performance done by Madeon was in April 2011 in Paris as a supporting act to Yelle. He also has been featured many times on Pete Tong's radio show segment, 15 Minutes of Fame.
Madeon played a 20-minute-long set on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 gala event as his debut live performance on January 27, 2012. The debut single by him was released on February 24th, 2012, named "Icarus." This song was featured on Dancing with the Stars, a US show. "Finale" and "Imperium" are two more single hits by Madeon that got featured in A Sports' FIFA (2013) and FIFA (2015), respectively. The 2017 FIFA also featured a remix of "Song 2" (Blur) by Madeon.
A new live show was announced by Madeon to debut in 2019, coming-up with some new music. Some of the recent releases by Madeon are "All My Friends," "Dream Dream Dream," and a few more.
