Maceo Plex Information
Eric Estornel is a Cuban-American DJ, techno music artist, and DJ Awards winner who goes by the stage names Maceo Plex (/'me?sio?/), Maetrik, and Mariel Ito. He grew up in Dallas and Miami.
House, techno, electro, and tech house are the main influences on his varied production style, making him famous. He has been performing for a long time at various Ibiza nightclubs, including the now-defunct Space and Amnesia, and since 2016, he has hosted his summer dance night at Pacha, Mosaic by Maceo.
After naming his newborn son Solar, Estornel unveiled a new concept idea in July 2017. His goal in making this, his third studio album, was to forge a more profound bond with his listeners.
Estornel's first Maetrik release since 2012's Unleash The Beast EP, the two-track EP The Return, was released in September 2017 via Clash Lion Records. Despite bearing the name of his big-room, Ibiza-friendly identity, Estornel's debut fabric mix CD, which he prepared in the spring of 2018, showcases the music he has composed under other aliases, such as Mariel Ito and Maetrik, over the previous 20 years.
While remaining faithful to his love of fusing different genres into one journey-filled mix, artist fabric98 mix pays homage to the acclaimed CD series. Ellum Audio released his most recent album, Mutant Series, in March 2019. He did a remix of "Insomnia" by Faithless in 2021.
