Lost Dog Street Band is an American band that was founded in the winter of 2010, in Kentucky. The band formation was a result of the break-up of husband-and-wife duo Benjamin Tod and Ashley Mae (fiddle player). Lost Dog Street Band currently consists of Benjamin Tod Flippo (guitarist/vocalist), Ashley Mae (fiddle player), and Jeff Loops (bass). The music of the trio is defined as country and folk type. The group was named after their yellow Labrador, Daisy.
Lost Dog Street Band has crowdfunded multiple albums through Indiegogo and Kickstarter. The members also self-publish many of their music videos on their YouTube channel named GemsOnVHS. Sick Pup was the first album by the band that was released in 2011. Another studio album followed it, Life's a Dog-gone Shame, in 2013.
Some of the other notable albums by Lost Dog Street are Homeward Bound (2015), Rage and Tragedy (2016), and Weight of a Trigger (2019). The latest album by the group reached number five on the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart. Lost Dog Street Band tours the country each year and shares their story of losing a friend Nicholas, in a tragic death. In this way, the band keeps Nicholas's work alive by sharing his music with the audience at the end of every show.
