Los Rehenes Information
Los Rehenes, one of Mexico's busiest bands, started in the early '80s in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, the same little town that birthed another successful Latin band, Los Temerarios. Most of the time, Los Rehenes play love songs, but occasionally, they'll break into a raucous corrido or an inspiring patriotic ballad.
Los Rehenes, featuring Javier and Roberto Torres on vocals, Jesus Ortega on guitar, Jesus Lambero on bass, Ben Torres on drums, Gerardo Torres on congas, and Francisco Ramon on keyboards, released a slew of albums in the '90s before breaking out with the hits "Corazones Rotos" and "Traicionera."
En Lo Grande, Los Rehenes, and Ni el Primero, Ni el Ultimo were the band's three consecutively successful albums released between 1992 and 1994 after signing with Discos Sabinas (Fonovisa in the Americas). Javier Torres, the de facto head of the ensemble, released his first solo album, Javier Torres con Banda, in 1994.
