Lindsay Ell Information
Lindsay Elizabeth Ell (March 20, 1989) is a country music singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Calgary, Alberta. Ell started to play piano at six years old; later, she discovered her father’s collection of guitars scattered throughout the house, which made her switch when she was eight. She started taking an interest in the blues and began songwriting when she was only ten. Ell was also a valedictorian for her class while studying at Bishop Carroll High School. She attended the University of Calgary to study business and studied music at the Berklee College of Music. Soon she decided to pursue her music career.
Ell was only 15 years old when Randy Bachman discovered her. He described that Ell is the most talented yet multi-faceted artist he has come across in many years. He produced and co-wrote Ell’s first album entitled “Consider This.” The album was recorded at the studio of Bachman, Saltspring Island. Most of the songs in the album were co-written by Ell. The album was released in 2006 on the record of Bachman Ranbach Music.
Ell went on touring with Buddy Guy, a blues guitarist, in 2008. She released another album entitled “Alone” in 2009. Compared to her debut album, she used more acoustic in this album. Ell toured extensively throughout her career while releasing many albums, including The Project (2017), The Continuum Project (2018), and Heart Theory (2020). In 2015, Ell won the Association of Country Music in Alberta award for “Female Artist of the Year.”
