Lil Smokies Information
Lil Smokies is an American bluegrass band made up of Scott Parker (bass), Matt Rieger (guitar), Matt Cornette (banjo), Jake Simpson (fiddle), and Andy Dunnigan (dobro). The band was founded back in 2009 in Missoula, Montana.
They are also the winners of the 2015 Telluride Bluegrass Band competition and the 2016 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year award. They were also voted the Best Band by Missoula Independent for the year 2013 through 2017. Lil Smokies is currently riding high on their latest album release, Changing Shades, which came out on September 15, 2017.
This album reflects the changes that have been going on in the band, including the loss of some of its founding members and the addition of new ones. The Changing Shades album was launched after a second attempt. In their first attempt the previous year, Dunnigan though it quite didn’t feel right to him.
