Leigh Nash Information
Leigh Nash (June 27, 1976) is an American singer and songwriter born in New Braunfels, Texas. At the tender age of twelve, she began performing country music and studying classic country tunes on guitar. She was a seasoned performer, having spent years playing in cafés and a Texas country and western dance hall. At a religious retreat in the early 90s, she met musician and songwriter Matt Slocum.
In August 2006, Nash's debut solo album, Blue on Blue, was released on One Son Records, an imprint label Nash ran under Nettwerk Productions. In the week beginning July 14, 2006, the first single, "My Idea of Heaven," was made available to American radio stations. The song "Ocean Size Love" was originally intended to be the second single; however, it was merely released for promotional purposes. She co-wrote the song "Mirrors and Smoke" with Jars of Clay on the same album, Good Monsters.
The Pretenders' "Don't Get Me Wrong" is a 1986 song that Nash covered in 2018. Nash announced in an interview that he will be releasing new music shortly with the help of crowdfunders. Nash revealed on August 25, 2021, that he would be collaborating with Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, CeCe Winans, Ruby Amanfu, Raul Malo, and Stephen Wilson Jr. on a six-song project titled The Tide, which would be published on September 24, 2021. The news that Nash will take over as the main singer for 10,000 Maniacs broke in July 2023.
