Lecrae Information
Lecrae Devaughn Moore (October 9, 1979) is an American actor, entrepreneur, record and film producer, record executive, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Houston, Texas. As a solo artist, there were ten studio albums and three mixtapes; as the head of the hip hop group 116 Clique, he has released three studio albums, a remix album, an EP, and numerous singles.
Many of the earliest recordings on Reach Records, including his own, were produced by him. Lecrae has responded to claims that he is a "Christian rapper" by insisting that his music is simply a hip hop, despite its Christian themes. In 2016, Lecrae inked a partnership deal with his label and Columbia Records to become a member of the Columbia Records roster. In May 2020, he up and left Columbia.
In 2004, Lecrae's first album, Real Talk, was released through Reach Records. As of its 2008 release, his third solo album, Rebel, is the first Christian hip hop album to debut at number one on the Billboard Gospel list. After his 2010 stint in rehab, Lecrae caught the attention of the mainstream with appearances on "Live & Let Live" by Statik Selektah and the cipher at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. Lecrae's debut mixtape, Church Clothes, was hosted by Don Cannon and dropped on May 10, 2012.
