Ari Staprans Leff (August 8, 1994) is professionally known as Lauv. He is an American singer, songwriter, as well as record producer who is based in Los Angeles. Lauv is from San Francisco, California. He also plays guitar, piano, drums, and voila. Lauv went to Radnor High School for graduation. From an early age, he took an interest in music and took viola and piano lessons. He learned to play guitar at the age of 11. When he was 14 years old, Lauv started writing songs.
After graduation, Lauv decided to study music technology at New York University's Steinhardt School. During his college, he focused on producing and writing for other artists during college. His official solo career began when he wrote a song called `` The Other" with Michael Matosic while getting over a break-up in the fall of 2014. He uploaded the song on Soundcloud in 2015 that made it viral. The song peaked at number three on the blog aggregator Hype Machine.
Some of the other singles by Lauv are "Reforget," "I Like Me Better," "Easy Love," "Paris in the Rain," "Chasing Fire," "Superhero," "There's No Way," "I'm So Tired...", "Drugs & the Internet," "Fuck, I'm Lonely," "Feelings," "Sims," "Tattoos Together," and a few more. He also released three EPs named Lost in the Light, Spotify Singles, and Lauv EP. One of the remix albums by Lauv is I Met You When I Was 18 (The Extras).
Lauv was nominated for three awards; 2018 Teen Choice Awards for the category of Breakout Artist, iHeartRadio Music Awards for the type of Best New Pop Artist, and 2019 MTV Video Music Awards for the category of Push Artist of the Year.
