Lauren Alaina Kristine Suddeth is an actress, singer, and songwriter born in Rossville, Georgia. Alaina began singing at three singing in family holiday gatherings, restaurants, and church. Alaina participated in a talent competition of the Southern Stars Pageant when she was eight and won. The following year, she was chosen to perform on the kid’s talent stage at the Riverbend Festival of Chattanooga. Until she was 12, Alaine performed annually at the festival.
Later, she went to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the American Model and Talent Competition. She won that competition after beating 1,500 kids. After her successful participation in American Idol (tenth season), Alaina signed a record deal with Interscope Records, 19 Recordings, and Mercury Nashville. She released a single entitled “Like My Mother Does” that reached 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 Country Songs and number 20 on the Hot 100 chart. The song sold 121,000 copies in its first week of release and peaked at number 36 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Alaina has appeared and performed on various talk shows throughout her career, including The Today Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She made her debut on Grand Ole Opry on June 10, 2011. Her debut album entitled “Wildflower” came out on October 11, 2011, and reached number five on the US Billboard 200 chart. On January 27, 2017, Alaina released her second studio album named Road Less Traveled.
