Timothy Lee McKenzie (4 January 1989), known by his stage name Labrinth, is an English vocalist, lyricist, songwriter, and record producer. When Labrinth began working with English rapper Tinie Tempah in 2010, she was signed to Simon Cowell's record company Syco Music. First, he was a featured artist—first uncredited on "Pass Out" and then formally on "Frisky"—before releasing his debut solo song, "Let the Sun Shine" (May), in September.
Three songs from his 2012 debut album, Electronic Earth, reached the top five on the UK Albums Chart, while the album reached number two. His first single to enter the US Billboard Hot 100's top 40, "Beneath Your Beautiful," also peaked at no.1 in the UK and was nominated for Best British Single at the Brit Awards.
In April of 2022, Labrinth delivered the Season 2 Official Score for Euphoria, continuing his compositional work throughout the year. With Zendaya on songwriting duties for "I'm Tired" and "Elliot's Song," he received two more Primetime Emmy nods for the score. Zendaya made an unexpected cameo during Labrinth's act during the April 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The Kitchen, a Netflix original film released in 2024, included music by him and Alex Baranowski.
