Kings X Information
King's X is an American rock band from Springfield, Missouri, which was founded in 1979. The group is also known as The Edge and Sneak Preview. The music of the King’s X is defined as hard rock, alternative metal, and progressive metal. The vocal arrangement of the band is influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion rock groups. The current lineup of the band comprises Doug Pinnick (bass guitar, lead and backing vocals), Jerry Gaskill (drums, percussion, backing, and lead vocals), and Ty Tabor (lead guitar, support, and lead vocals). Some of the former members of the group are Dan McCollam and Kirk Henderson.
King's X released its debut album entitled Out of the Silent Planet, in 1988. The name of the album was derived from the C. S. Lewis novel Out of the Silent Planet. Gretchen Goes followed it to Nebraska in 1989. The third album by King's X was Faith Hope Love, which was released in late 1990. Some of the other studio albums by the band are Dogman, Ear Candy, Tape Head; Please Come Home... Mr. Bulbous, Manic Moonlight, Black Like Sunday, Ogre Tones, and a few more. The band also released some Live Albums such as Life All Over the Place 2004, Live & Live Some More 2007, Tales From the Empire 2009, Live Love in London 2010, and Burning Down Boston 2012.
King's X also played with a wide variety of acts while touring in support of it, such as Suicidal Tendencies, M.O.D., Living Colour, Anthrax, Billy Squier, and Blue Murder. The band was featured in the issue of Rolling Stone of February 1991.
