Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi (January 30, 1984) is an American fashion designer, actor, record producer, singer, rapper, and songwriter. He is professionally known by his stage name, Kid Cudi, born in Cleveland, Ohio. Man on the Moon: The End of Day (2009), Cudi's debut album, was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and includes a remastered version of his commercial debut single.
In April of 2021, after previously appearing with Kanye West and 070 Shake in "Ghost Town" in 2018, Cudi was the show's sole musical guest. His renditions of "Tequila Shots" and "Sad People" were homages to Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain. The video for "Sad People" featured Cudi in a floral outfit by Virgil Abloh as a tribute to Kurt Cobain. The RIAA granted Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" from 2010 a diamond (10 million units) certification in December 2022.
A John Woo action movie, Silent Night, starring Cudi and Joel Kinnaman, was set to begin filming in April 2022. To wrap out his deal with Republic Records, Cudi stated on February 27, 2023, that his final album will be published in the fall of that year, with the album's promotion and the release of its first song beginning in the summer.
