From major milestones in his career, Kenshi Yonezu has had an impressive few years. His sixth studio album, Lost Corner, dropped in 2024, with tracks including Hayao Miyazaki's The Boy and the Heron's Chikyugi – Spinning Globe and Chainsaw Man's theme song Kick Back. The album has been a hit, breaking into Billboard's Top 50 three times and debuting at No. 7 on Spotify's global weekly Top Albums chart.
Yonezu's 2025 World Tour / JUNK, his first US and Europe headlining shows, will support this release. The tour begins in Japan and then goes to Shanghai, Taipei, Seoul, and several European and American cities such as London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. With this, his first international tour, his distinct Jpop, electronic, and rock blend is set to be heard on international stages for the first time.
In 2023, Yonezu achieved milestones such as writing the Final Fantasy XVI theme tune and continuing his work with Studio Ghibli. His track "Kick Back" became the first Japanese-language song to receive RIAA Gold certification.
