Caroline Giraldo Navarro (February 14, 1991) is a Colombian singer. Her stage name professionally knows Karol G. She was born in Medellin, Colombia. She made her El Factor X debut when she was only 14. Giraldo hoped he would be the next Justin Bieber by uploading cover versions of songs by Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill to YouTube. After much perseverance, she signed her first record deal with Flamingo Records (Colombia) and Diamond Music (Puerto Rico) under the stage name "Karol G." A short time later, she shared a stage with J Balvin for a quinceaera celebration.
Karol G released a 30-second video on March 17, 2021, revealing her next studio album's title, release date, and cover art. KG0516 was released on March 26 after the track listing was revealed on March 22. Karol G and Smirnoff launched their "Sabor for the People" campaign in October 2021. Smirnoff will sponsor her next Bichota Tour as part of the agreement. Karol G and Crocs unveiled their collaboration with two new shoe styles on February 14, 2022.
Over 15,000 people watched Karol G's live-streamed performance at the renowned Via del Mar International Song Festival in Via del Mar/Valparaiso, Chile, on February 19, 2023. Featuring Panamanian reggaeton musician Aldo Ranks, "Watati" by Karol G was released as a promotional single for Barbie: The Album on June 2, 2023.
