Kaleo Information
Kaleo (often stylized as KALEO) is one of the most famous Icelandic rock band. The group was formed at Mosfellsbær in 2012. The music style of the band is described as blues, indie rock, garage rock, alternative rock, indie folk, garage punk, and psychedelic rock. The current members of Kaleo are JJ Julius Son lead vocalist and guitarist, David Antonsson drummer, Daniel Kristjansson bassist, Rubin Pollock lead guitarist, and Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson. The band’s name refers to "the sound" in Hawaiian.
Kaleo began its official career by producing some of the successful shows at the 2012 Iceland Airwaves music festival. After covering the song named "Vor í Vaglaskógi," the group received heavy rotation on Icelandic state broadcaster famous as RÚV's radio station Rás 2. Some of the hit singles released initially by the Kaleo are "All the Pretty Girls" (enjoyed over 87 million streams on Spotify), "Way Down We Go," "I Can't Go On Without You," "Way Down We Go," and "No Good."
Kaleo also released some hit albums, including Kaleo (2013) and A/B (2016). Some of the top music videos created by the group are "Rock n' Roller," "All The Pretty Girls," "Way Down We Go," and "No Good." Kaleo also performed many successful tours since the day it is active. A few of the past tours are; 2016 – Byron Bay Bluesfest, 2016 – "Way Down We Go" Tour ft. "Dizzy" Daniel Moorehead, 2016–2017 – KALEO Handprint Tour, 2017 – KALEO Express Tour, the band also opened for Vance Joy in Autumn 2015, 2017 – Opened for The Lumineers Cleopatra Tour, and a few more.
Kaleo got nominated for Best Rock Performance at the Grammy Awards for its work, No Good.
