Jungle Rot Information
Jungle Rot is a death metal band with a current lineup consisting of Spenser Syphers (drums), Geoff Bub (lead guitars), James Genenz (bass), and Dave Matrise (rhythm guitar and vocals). The band plays such an aggressive style of thrash-influenced death metal. They are also known to integrate slow stomp melodies into their speed-thrash style. The band was founded as a side project in 1992 by Joe Thomas and Jim Harte.
Jungle Rot released its first two demos, including Rip Off Your Face (1993) and Skin the Living (1995), and after that, they signed to the American independent label, Pure Death Records. The record was at the time owned by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. The band released its first album on the newly signed label, reassembling their second demo, Skin the Living, in 1996. The band’s second album, Slaughter the Weak, in late 1997. It was released through an independent label, Pulverizer Records.
Other studio albums released by Jungle Rot include Dead and Buried (2001), Fueled by Hate (2004), Warzone (2006), What Horrors Await (2009), Kill on Command (2011), Terror Regime (2013), Order Shall Prevail (2015), and Jungle Rot (2018). Notable singles of the band include “A Burning Cinder,” “Fearmonger,” “Speed Freak,” “Fight Where You Stand,” “Paralyzed Prey,” and “Rise Up And Revolt.”
