Joshua Jay Information
Joshua Jay (October 30, 1981) is an American lecturer, author, and magician born in Canton, Ohio. Growing up in Canton, Ohio, Jay attended Canton Country Day School and GlenOak High School. He was brought up as a Jew. When his father performed a card trick for him but failed to explain how it worked, he grew intrigued. Since working with HBO on Game of Thrones, Jay has worked on stage and screen illusions. This year, USPS briefed Jay on their upcoming Magic postal stamp series.
At the Columbus Magi-Fest on January 30, 2016, Jay set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Selection of Shuffled Cards in a Single Minute. A record of 21 cards was recovered by him, which remains. "Tragic Magic," feats that have killed magicians, assistants, and spectators, has been the subject of Jay's pioneering research. A Gibiciere academic article on the history of magic is one of Jay's notable accomplishments.
President Obama's Inaugural Ball in 2008 and private concerts for former President Clinton have all been Jay's gigs. Jay is one of the most prolific writers in magic's dwindling literary community. Magic: The Complete Course and The Amazing Book of Cards have been made available to the general public, as have nearly all of his works.
