John Fogerty Information
John Cameron Fogerty (May 28, 1945) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Berkeley, California. Both "Jambalaya" (a top 20 smash) and "Hearts of Stone" (a more modest hit) may trace their roots back to the 1973 publication of the self-titled The Blue Ridge Rangers. A rock and roll song titled "You Don't Owe Me" b/w "Back in the Hills" (Fantasy F-710) by Fogerty was issued when he was still going by "The Blue Ridge Rangers" moniker.
Although "You Don't Owe Me" was a moderate success in Canada, peaking at No. 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 there, the album was a commercial failure in the United States. The EP, titled Fogerty's Factory, was published on May 28, 2020, to coincide with Fogerty's 75th birthday and features seven songs from the remote performances. On November 20, a 12-track album expanded the collection to include extra lockdown performances.
On "Scream and Shout," a single by his boys' band Hearty Har, due out on October 19, 2020, Fogerty provided backing vocals. Featuring social and political commentary on Black Lives Matter, the pandemic, and Donald Trump, Fogerty's "Weeping in the Promised Land," a gospel-styled single, was released on January 6, 2021. Fogerty tweeted on January 13, 2023, that after a 50-year legal struggle, he has finally won ownership of the CCR global catalog.
