Joe Jackson (August 11, 1954) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. During his teenage years, Jackson's parents relocated to the neighboring town of Gosport. Initially trained on the violin, he quickly began playing the piano and convinced his father to put one in the Paulsgrove council house hall. Around the same time that he obtained a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London to study composition, Jackson started performing piano in bars when he was sixteen.
The completion of Jackson's follow-up to 2012's The Duke was announced on his official website in 2015. The North American tour dates, album title, and track listing were all confirmed. Jackson dropped his new album, Fool, on January 18, 2019. According to Jackson's website, he mentioned the band he has been performing with intermittently for the past three years as an influence for the record. I've had a lot of lineups before, but this one is unique. "Fabulously Absolute" was played by Jackson and the band on January 21, 2019, on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show. After its debut, the Dutch, Belgian, German, and Swiss top 20 album charts were occupied by Fool. Regarding US album sales, it debuted at number 25 on Billboard's list. It debuted at number thirteen on the UK's Indie Albums Chart.
