Jessica Pratt (April 24, 1987) is an American singer-songwriter and musician who lives in Los Angeles. Released in 2012, her self-titled debut album came via Birth Records, a record company founded by White Fence songwriter Tim Presley to distribute Pratt's work. She is most usually connected with the freak folk movement. Her second and third albums are Quiet Signs (2019) and On Your Own Love Again (2015) ( Drag City).
In 2024, she released her fourth album, Here in the Pitch. She debuted a video for a new song called "Life Is" in February 2024, the first single on her first new album in five years. Released on May 3, 2024, via Mexican Summer and City Slang, this Pitch received all agreed praise. Pitchfork gave the record an 8.8 score and a Best New Music Label.
"Life Is," the record's main tune, closed Chanel's Fall-Winter 2024/25 Haute Couture Show. On The Late Show in July 2024, she sang the song with her band. She was featured on the track "Highjack," released on August 2, 2024, and taken from ASAP Rocky's forthcoming fourth studio album Don't Be Dumb.
