Jenny Owen Youngs (November 22, 1981) is an American singer and songwriter. She has performed worldwide and has three albums, several EPs, and both independent and Nettwerk Records releases to her credit. In 2018, Panic! at the Disco released the single "High Hopes," and Youngs has also written songs with Pitbull, Brett Dennen, Ingrid Michaelson, Shungudzo, and others.
Youngs' debut album, Batten the Hatches, was independently published in 2005 after being recorded at SUNY Purchase using loan equipment. Youngs met Gary Calamar, the Weeds music supervisor, during Austin's South by Southwest festival, and as a result, her song "Fuck Was I" was used in the show's second-season premiere. Youngs and Helen Zaltzman debuted Veronica Mars Investigations as a podcast in August 2019. Each episode of the well-liked television program Veronica Mars is covered in the podcast.
