Jennifer Nettles Information
Jennifer Nettles (September 12, 1974) is an American actress, record producer, and singer. She is also the lead vocalist of the duo “Sugarland.” Nettles was born in the small town of Douglas, Georgia. She received education from Coffee High School. When she was in school, she used to perform at school assemblies. From 1986-1993, Nettles remained a member of the Georgia 4-H’s Clovers & Company performing arts group.
Nettles received her graduation degree from Agnes Scott College in Anthropology and Sociology. While studying, she, along with her friend Cory Jones, who was studying classical guitar at the University of Georgia, both formed a group called “Soul Miner’s Daughter.” They both performed as an acoustic duo. They released two albums with the band named “The Sacred and Profane” in the year 1996 and “Hallelujah” in 1998. In 1999, the group “Soul Miner’s Daughter” was also invited to perform at the installment of the Lilith Fair in Atlanta.
Nettles formed her own Jennifer Nettles band in 1999. With this band, she released two live albums and three studio albums. The band added a few more members later on, such as Scott Nicholson (piano), Mike Cebulski (percussion), Brad Sikes (drums), and Wesley Lupold (bass). The band won the grand prize in “The Big Deal $100,000 Music Search” that was presented by Mars Music.
Jennifer Nettles released a studio album before the formation of her band called “For Your Love/ You’re The One” in 1991. As a bandhead, she released Story of Your Bones (2000), Gravity: Drag Me Down (2002), and Rewind (2002).
