Jann Arden Information
Jann Arden (March 27, 1962) is a Canadian actress, singer-songwriter, and author. She was born Jann Arden Anne Richards in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Songs like "Could I Be Your Girl" and "Insensitive"—her most popular single to date—and other ballads like "Cherry Popsicle" and "I Would Die For You" have made her renowned. Neil MacGonigill, a manager from Calgary, founded Arden in 1985. He managed her career and served as executive producer for her early albums from 1985 until 1998. After that, they drifted apart.
"I Would Die For You" was the lead single from Arden's 1993 debut album, Time for Mercy, which garnered rave reviews. Both were included in Arden's 1994 haul of six Alberta Recording Industry Awards. Arden has performed at Live 8, the MAC Cosmetics Fashion Cares AIDS fundraiser, and World Vision's Africa program, among other charity events. Also, on January 8, 1997, she appeared in the opening portion of an episode of the Ellen comedy series, which featured Ellen DeGeneres.
Along with co-host Arlene Dickinson, she debuted The Business of Life in 2018—a lifestyle podcast covering parenthood, writing, relationships, entrepreneurship, and overcoming life's obstacles. The announcement that Arden would join the celebrity judges on The Launch, a music series on CTV, came in October 2018. The Musician Olivia Lunny of Winnipeg was Arden's mentee on the episode. Arden made the announcement that she had written a novel during her June 6, 2023, visit on The Marilyn Denis Show. The book was scheduled to be published in November.
