Having been born with genuine grit and the means to support herself, Jessica Phillippe is a true survivor. She's had a lot of success with the dirtybird crew, but that hasn't stopped her from regularly scouring record stores for hidden treasures to incorporate into her electrifying concerts. She's a hard worker and a dedicated lady who won't settle for the obvious and wants to rock the dance floor with her original music. When it comes to production, she's equally as terrifying, giving her songs a rough yet upbeat vibe.
Her skills, with her contagious enthusiasm and astounding knowledge, have made her one of the most admired DJs in the world. After finishing her studies in Engineering, the straight-A student dove headfirst into her actual passion, music, after purchasing a cheap pair of belt-drive decks and a mixer for her 19th birthday. In 2005, she won a DJ competition, after which she traveled to the United States and ultimately settled in Chicago. This city is widely considered to be the home of house music.
She faced the same obstacles that other aspiring musicians face on their route to stardom in Chicago, but she kept her eye on the prize. Moving to San Francisco only added to her problems, but she overcame them with hard work and talent. Phillippe's perseverance paid off when she found and joined the dirtybird team.
