Inna Faliks Information
Inna Faliks, a pianist born in Ukraine, is widely regarded as one of today's most innovative, dedicated, communicative, and poetic performers. Faliks is well-known for her bold interpretations of classical piano works, her experimental, cross-disciplinary initiatives, and her curious collaborations with modern composers. After making her debut at the Gilmore Festival and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra when she was only a teenager, she went on to perform with many of the world's top orchestras as a soloist and under the batons of renowned directors, including Leonard Slatkin and Keith Lockhart.
Currently, Faliks serves as UCLA's Head Piano Professor. "a concert pianist of the highest order," "courage to take risks, expressive intensity, and technical perfection" (General-Anzeiger Bonn), "remarkable insight," "poetry and panoramic vision," "riveting passion, playfulness," and "signature blend of lithe grace and raw power."
Her all-Beethoven CD was released on MSR Classics in October 2014 and was met with critical acclaim. A WTTW preview of the disc hailed Faliks as a "High priestess of the piano, pianist of the highest order, as dramatic and subtle as a great stage actor." Sound of Verse, her previous CD on MSR Classics, was published in 2009 to widespread acclaim and featured the music of Boris Pasternak, Rachmaninoff, and Ravel. A Yamaha Disklavier recital recording is also part of her discography.
