Hurray for the Riff Raff is an American rock band. The current lineup consists of Alynda Segarra. At an early age, Alynda Mariposa Segarra (then known as alynda lee) was exposed to doo-wop and Motown music by their aunt and uncle, who reared them in the Bronx.
They are a Puerto Rican American rock musician. It Don't Mean I Don't Love You, Hurray for the Riff Raff's debut studio album, was self-published by Segarra in 2008, and Young Blood Blues, the band's second studio album, was released independently in 2010. In February 2011, The Times ran an article about the HBO TV miniseries Treme featuring Hurray for the Riff Raff's "Daniella." The show has chosen the song as one of New Orleans' important tunes.
In Europe, Hurray for the Riff Raff's self-titled CD, released on Loose Music on March 21, 2011, featured Segarra's picks from the band's first two albums. The band had tracks from their debut album on an independent label played on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. Look Out Mama was released by Hurray for the Riff Raff in May 2012 on their label, Born to Win Records, and the European label, Loose Music. Hurray for the Riff Raff's first single, "Small Town Heroes," was released on ATO Records in February 2014.
