It was produced into a Disney film by the same name by Tab Murphy along with Irene Mecchi, Bob Tzudiker, Noni White, and Jonathan Roberts. The music of the film was by Alan Menken, which was edited by Ellen Keneshea.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is considered a dark story. The narrative explores mature themes as damnation, genocide, infanticide, lust, and sin. The drama film was released to generally positive reviews. With a budget of $100 million, the film grossed over $325 million worldwide, turning out to be the fifth highest-grossing release of 1996. The style of the show contains portions of Victor Hugo adaption with the music primarily from the Disney version.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame received Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations along with several more.
