Human Impact Information
Human Impact is an American noise rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Xiu Xiu, Cop Shoot Cop, Swans, and Unsane. Chris Spencer confirmed the band's formation while also stating that he will no longer be a member of Unsane. On March 13, 2020, they released their self-titled debut album. On April 7, the non-album single "Contact" was released.
Unsane and Cop Shoot Cop were formed in New York City's hardcore movement in the late 1980s. Jim Coleman and Chris Spencer formed a close bond during this time. Both bands influenced noise-rock, but it wasn't until 2018 that the two talked about establishing a band.
Later on, bassist Chris Pravdica and drummer Phil Puleo joined the band. Puleo had previously played for Coleman in CSC and Pravdica in Swans.
