Hop Along Information
Hop Along is an indie rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group's current lineup consists of Joe Reinhart, Tyler Long, Mark Quinlan, and Frances Quinlan. Hop Along began in 2004 by an acoustic freak as a solo project during Frances Quinlan's senior year in high school.
In 2005, Quinlan released their debut album "Freshman year." For several years, Quinlan kept on performing an acoustic solo act. As it got refined, they decided to take it on another level. Thus, three years after the release of Freshman year, their brother Mark Quinlan became part of the project as a drummer, followed by Tyler Long as a bassist in 2009. On turning the solo project into the band, they renamed it "Hop Along." Their first album released was "Wretches," a three-track EP. Hop Along got a warm response from the independent music press on the second full-length album, "Get Disowned," released May 5, 2012.
Afterward, Hop Along approached Joe Rheinhart, basically their friend, to produce their next album. Rheinhart was later added as the second guitarist. After the band signed to Indie rock "Saddle creek records" in Oct 2014, they prepared for the third album. This ten-track album "Painted Shut," released on May 4, 2015, highlighted poverty, abuse, and mental illness and got praised for the immediacy and emotional depth of Quinlan's quirky voice.
On April 6, 2018, Hop Along's fourth full-length album, "Bark Your Head Off, Dog," was released.
