Holy Fuck Information
Holy Fuck is a Canadian electronica band based in Toronto. The current lineup of the group includes Brian Borcherdt (keyboards and effects), Graham Walsh (keyboards and effects), Matt “Punchy” McQuaid (bass), and Matt Schulz (drums). The band was a part of the Dependent Music, an artist collective and music label. Holy Fuck is known for its live usage of non-instruments and various instruments to provide the experience of electronic-sounding effects to their audience.
Holy Fuck was formed in 2004, and since then, the group has performed at SXSW music festival in 2006, 2007, and 2008, Evolve Festival, Vegoose, All Tomorrow’s Parties, the Montreal Jazz Festival, POP Montreal, the Halifax Pop Explosion, and the CMJ Music Marathon. The group’s music can be heard in the comedy television “Kenny vs. Spenny” during its 4th and 5th seasons. The group played the Virgin Mobile FreeFest dance stage at Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, Maryland, on August 30, 2009.
Holy Fuck recorded its debut album, self-titled, on November 9, 2004, with Dave Newfeld and Laurence Currie. The album was stated as one of the top ten albums of the Montreal Mirror in 2005. The band has worked with a few record labels since they started their music careers, including Dependent Music, Young Turks, and Innovative Leisure.
Holy Fuck has released several EPs and singles, including Holy Fuck EP (2007), + Ghost (2010), Luxe (2019), Free Gloss (2019), and Deleters (2020). Their studio albums are LP (2007), Latin (2010), Congrats (2016), and Deleter (2020).
