Hawthorne Heights is a Dayton, Ohio-based American rock band established in 2001. The current lineup of the band, which was once known as A Day in the Life, includes lead guitarist Mark McMillon, rhythm guitarist JT Woodruff, bassist Matt Ridenour, backup vocalist Chris Popadak, and lead guitarist Mark McMillon, who also sings dirty.
If Only You Were Lonely (2006) and The Silence in Black and White (2004), the band's debut two albums, both received RIAA gold certification and were commercially successful. Also, their second album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. The band's signing with Red Entertainment was revealed. Their latest album, Zero, was released on June 25, 2013.
During their first post-pandemic tour alongside fellow musicians Senses Fail and Bayside, the band's seventh studio album, The Rain Follows Me, was released on September 10, 2021, via Pure Noise Records. Cameron Webb, a Grammy-winning producer, crafted the 10-song album. Featuring guest vocals from Brendan Murphy of Counterparts, the album's lead hit, "Constant Dread." The band's five-song EP Lost Lights was released on September 8, 2023.
