Hatchie Information
Hatchie (May 4, 1993) is an American singer, musician, and songwriter. She was born in Brisbane, Queensland. She began singing at a young age and studied guitar and bass in her teenage years before moving on to the piano and clarinet. Before deciding to pursue live music as a form of self-expression, she majored in the arts and business at a four-year university. She was a part of the band Go Violets until its dissolution in 2014 and is now the bassist and lead singer for the indie rock band Babaganouj.
Hatchie is a family nickname, and Pilbeam used it for her solo debut when she released her first single, "Try," in May of 2017. She received much attention in her home country of Australia because of the track. After that, in November of 2017, she signed with Ivy League Records and dropped her second song, "Sure." She inked deals with Double Double Whammy and Heavenly Recordings in January 2018. Robin Guthrie, the guitarist for the Cocteau Twins, released a remix of the song "Sure" in February. Before releasing her self-titled first EP on May 25, she dropped two more singles, "Sugar & Spice" and "Sleep." The EP includes the four hits previously published and a new song titled "Bad Guy."
For Adult Swim's singles series, Hatchie dropped a new track named "Adored" on October 24, 2018. Hatchie released the first single from her upcoming first studio album, Keepsake, on February 26. Two further singles, "Stay with Me" and "Obsessed," were issued before the album's drop.
