Harley Poe is a horror/folk-punk band that began as Calibretto 13. The current line up of the band consists of Joe Whiteford (vox and guitars), Gregg Manfredi (backing vocals and bass), Cristian Riquelme (percussion/drums), and Wesley Plantenga (electric guitars). Harley Poe is led by Joe Whiteford, who is also responsible for writing most of the band’s content. The band originated in Indiana.
Harley Poe’s song’s lyrics are based upon monsters and horror themes. Some of their notable tracks are Corpse Grinding Man and Transvestites Can Be Cannibals Too. In August 2006, Harley Poe released its debut album “The Dead and the Naked.” The album includes new material in addition to live versions of songs.
Harley Poe states that they are not about writing songs relevant to monsters, but they sing about being monsters; hence, there is much difference between the two things. When the band performs on the stage, werewolves, cannibals, vampires, and serial killers always take the center of the stage. The group has worked with different labels so far, such as Standard Recording Co, Chain Smoking Records, You Look Like Shit Records, Failure Records, and HorrorHound Records. The albums by Harley Poe include Lost and Losing It (2017), Have Great Life (2019), Fallen (2015), Pagan Holiday (2013), Alive and Alone (2018), Wretched. Filthy. Ugly (2010), and Satan, Sex, and No Regrets (2012).
