Gregory Alan Isakov Information
Gregory Alan Isavok (October 19, 1987) is a singer and songwriter. He was born in South Africa. At 16, he started traveling with a band that played in Philadelphia. Following that, Isakov relocated to Colorado to pursue a course of study in horticulture at Naropa University.
Isakov has engaged in musical instrument performance throughout his lifespan. However, he has embarked upon a professional career as a musician by participating in occasional musical performances while additionally employed as a gardener. The depth of his musical career increased when he embarked on tours alongside Kelly Joe Phelps.
Isakov independently published his debut album, Rust Colored Stones, in 2003. Songs for October were independently released by him in 2005. In 2007, he independently distributed the album titled "That Sea, the Gambler." In 2013, Isakov established an autonomous record label known as Suitcase Town Music, through which he proceeded to release his album titled The Weatherman.
In the year 2016, Isakov published an album titled "Gregory Alan Isakov" with the Colorado Symphony. This album consisted of eleven of his previously composed songs, arranged by many composers and recorded in collaboration with the Colorado Symphony. The album "Evening Machines" was released on October 5, 2018, under the Suitcase Town Music label.
Isakov's album Evening Machines received a nomination for the Best Folk Album category at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards held in November 2019.
