Gesaffelstein Information

Gesaffelstein, originally known as Mike Levy (13 June 1987), is a French music programmer, DJ, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in Lyon France and started producing music at the age of sixteen when he played an analog synthesizer for the first time. His name is a portmanteau of Albert Einstein and Gesamtkunstwerk.

His genres consist of Tech house, industrial techno, electro house, witch house, EBM, classical, synthwave, R&B, hip hop, and electronica. Levy plays keyboards, synthesizers, sampler, programming, piano, drums, percussion, guitar, and bass guitar as his instruments.

Mike released his first EP in 2008, with a label OD Records. Later in July 2012, Levy made the cover of DJ Mag with Brodinski. He has worked alongside some famous artists such as The Weekend, Miss Kittin, Daft Punk, Rocky, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams.

Gesaffelstein co-produced two tracks included in an album of American rapper Kanye West on Yeezus. He released his debut album Aleph under OWSLA, Bromance Records, Parlophone Records, and EMI Music. His remix of Shockwave was featured in the famous video game Grand Theft Auto V. Mike released his single Conquistador in collaboration with Jean-Michel Jarre and produced the soundtrack for the 2015 film Maryland.

In 2018, Levy produced the tracks “I Was Never There” and “Hurt You” from The Weekend’s My Dear Melancholy. He signed to Columbia Records by November and released the lead single “Reset” from his album Hyperion. On 3rd October 2019, Mike announced his surprise EP NOVO Sonic System, which was released the next day.
