Dean Simmons is an American artist who is following the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and uncle to a life of country music performances. He began strumming his guitar at the age of seven while performing in his father’s band. Dean played lead guitar for several projects, and later on, he formed a Dean Simmons Band that performed in festivals, honky-tonks, and night clubs all over the Pacific Northwest. The band had the honor of playing for the military at bases all over the United States, South Pacific, the Caribbean, and the Far East.
As Garth Brooks began dominating the charts in 1992, Dean found himself learning, as well as loving, Garth’s music. He studied Garth’s music, music videos, and concert footage extensively. Simmons also emulates Garth’s walk, his way of connecting with the audience, entertaining them, the ability to engage, and laugh. In 1996, producer John Stuart noticed him and offered him to perform in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” in Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, along with several tours. He also did many performances throughout Canada and the United States.
Garth Guy is a full-length show by Dean Simmons that he first produced in 2014. The show was based on Garth’s live concert and has been featured widely on national television and “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” AXS TV, network of Mark Cuban. Garth Guy’s show is packaged with Dean’s wife, Kim, who also produces a tribute to Shania Twain.
