French 79 Information
Simon Henner established the electro-pop musical project French 79 in Marseille in 2014. Nasser’s and Kid Francescoli’s guitarists are Simon Henner. The latter began working on the French 79 project in 2014. With the publication of his debut album Olympic in 2016, French 79 became a success. On March 8, 1979, Henner was born. He began attending Épinal’s music school when he was six years old. He studied percussion and piano at the conservatory. He was a drummer in Rock, Pop-Psyche, and Hip-Hop groups as a youngster.
This project began in 2013 with studio loops that did not fit Nasser or Husbands and was more focused on electronic music. Simon Henner is planning a new initiative to keep these curls from fading away, based on the recommendations of Oh! Tiger Mountain and Kid Francescoli. He developed French 79 because electronic music lends itself perfectly to a solo project.
The foundation of French 79’s visual identity may already be seen there. In October of 2014, the title “Angel” was released for the first time. It’s accompanied by a short video that’s been uploaded to YouTube. The first EP, also titled “Angel,” was released the same year. French 79 made its debut in the same year. The Cauboyz will perform a live clip of their hit “Between The Buttons” at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The first printer in history is seen in the video.
Apart from producing albums, French 79 collaborates with other artists: Laurent Garnier, Munk, The Do, NZCA Lines, Femi Kuti, Les Gordon, BLOW, and Cabaret Contemporain.
