Fontaines DC Information
Fountaines D.C. is an Irish post-punk band. The current lineup of the group consists of Tom Coll (guitar, percussion, and drums), Grian Chatten (tambourine and lead vocals), Conor Deegan III (bass guitar, backing vocals, and guitar), Conor Curley (backing vocals, piano, and guitar), and Carlos O'Connell (backing vocals and guitar). The band formed in music school, bonded over a shared appreciation for poetry, and began releasing independent singles and playing live shows frequently before signing to Partisan Records in 2018.
Dogrel, the band's debut album, was released on April 12, 2019, to worldwide critical acclaim. The album has been named Album of the Year by Rough Trade, Album of the Year by the DJs on BBC Radio 6 Music, and Album of the Year by listeners to both the Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize. Written and recorded during the band's extended debut tour, 2020's A Hero's Death is the band's second studio album.
Later, at the 2021 Grammys, A Hero's Death was up for Best Rock Album. In 2022, the band released their third studio album, Skinny Fia, which quickly became their first to debut at No. 1 on both the UK and the Irish Albums Chart. Skinty Fia was revealed as the band's third studio album in January 2022. On April 22, 2022, it was made available to the public. At the same time the album was announced, the band released the album's first song, "Jackie Down the Line," along with a music video.
