Flume Information
Harley Edward Streten (November 5, 1991) is an Australian DJ and music producer who goes by the stage name "Flume". He was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Flume is widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of future bass. In 2012, he released his self-titled first studio album, which quickly became a commercial and critical hit, eventually hitting No. 1 on Australia's ARIA Albums Chart and being certified double platinum.
Flume's discography includes remixes of tracks by Lorde, Sam Smith, Arcade Fire, Hermitude, and Disclosure, among others. In 2016, he released his second recording project, Skin, which immediately went to the top of the ARIA Albums Chart.
The album took home the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2017. Best Dance Recording nominee "Never Be Like You" was the album's debut single, and it contributed to attracting attention to the record on a global scale. Following the release of Skin, Flume dropped two B-side EPs, titled Skin Companion EP 1 (November 2016) and Skin Companion EP 2 (February 2017).
The music of Flume is an aesthetic journey, not just a collection of tunes and rhythms. He is well-known for his cutting-edge production methods, many of which involve changing and adjusting organic sounds. He is known as a sonic alchemist due to his ability to transform ordinary sound into melodic compositional parts.
"Hi, This Is Flume," his 2019 mixtape, was well-received by critics. Palaces, his third solo album, came out in May of 2022. His second mixtape, Things Don't Always Go the Way You Plan, was released in February 2023. In May 2023, he dropped his third mixtape, Arrived Anxious, Left Bored.
