Florida Blue Battle of the Bands Information
An annual showcase of the top high school marching bands from around the country, the Florida Blue Battle of the Bands, presented by Publix, is a segment of Weeklong Fun and part of THE PLAYERS Community Week activities. The 2024 FAMU Battle of the Bands will take place on Nov. 22, 2024, at the Kia Center in Orlando, Fla., on the prelude to the Florida Blue Florida Classic football game between Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU).
Elite high school bands will perform, some who are returning like Burke High School's High Stepping Bulldog Band from Charleston, S.C., and Evans High School's Green Machine Marching Band from Orlando, Fla. Newcomers like the McArthur High School 'Herd of Sound' Marching Band from Hollywood, Florida, and Westlake High School Mighty Marching Lions from Atlanta, Georgia, also take the stage.
A highlight of the evening is performances by the legendary FAMU "Marching 100" and B-CU "Marching Wildcats." The Marching 100 has performed at the Olympics and presidential inauguration, and the Marching Wildcats have appeared on national TV on The Ellen Show and Netflix's Marching Orders.
