Fireside Collective, a five-piece band that emerged seven years ago from the fruitful roots music scene in Asheville, North Carolina, has been on a roll ever since. The band members gleefully disdain any one-dimensional label that might be applied to their music. The progressive bluegrass band has quickly released their debut album, won the Band Contest at MerleFest in 2016, has been nominated for International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Band of the Year, and set out on an extensive tour that has been met with acclaim from fans of both traditional bluegrass and more experimental styles of music.
Fireside Collective has created an original body of work by fusing the distinctive interplay of bluegrass instrumentation and harmonies with powerful creative material and enthusiastic energy. They have also pulled from folk, blues, funk, and various bluegrass sounds.
Different lead and harmony vocalists add to the variety of the group's many original compositions. At the same time, members like Joe Cicero (guitar), Alex Genova (banjo), Jesse Iaquinto (mandolin), Tommy Maher (resonator guitar), and Carson White (upright bass) bring a strong, original voice to their instruments.
