Felix Cavaliere Information
Felix Cavaliere (November 29, 1942) is an American songwriter, musician, record producer, and singer. He was born in Pelham, New York. Cavaliere started learning piano at a very early age. While attending college, he joined The Stereos, and later on, he went on to form The Escorts. Cavaliere has also produced albums by other artists, including Jimmie Spheeris and Laura Nyro.
In 1977, Cavaliere released a self-titled AOR-styled album under the band name Treasure. In this album, he featured Vinnie Vincent of Kiss band on guitar. In 1980, Cavaliere had his solo hit that went viral and reached number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and number 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
In 1994, he recorded another album entitled “Dreams in Motion,” which was produced by Don Was. He had also been a touring member of the third band of Ringo Starr called All-Star Band.
During the 1960s, Cavaliere was best known due to his association with The Young Rascals. He played the Hammond B-3 Organ plus sang vocals on their six successful singles. He recorded another album, “Nudge it Up a Notch,” with Steve Cropper in 2006. The album was officially released on July 29, 2008. He, along with his former writing partner Eddie Brigati, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 18, 2009.
Throughout the career of Cavaliere, he had been associated with Treasure, The Rascals, Ringo Starr & His All-Star Band, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul, Steve Cropper. He signed record deals with Bearsville, Wounded Bird, MCA, and Stax. Cavaliere’s studio albums include Destiny (1975), Castles in the Air (1979), Mignight Flyer (2010), and a few more.
