Ezra Furman Information
Ezra Furman (September 5, 1986) is an American songwriter and musician. She was born in Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 2006 and lasting until 2011, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons was a four-piece rock band. Four albums were put out by them, but it all came to an end in 2011. After their contract with Minty Fresh Records ended, the band issued a self-produced compilation CD in 2009 titled Moon Face: Bootlegs and Road Recordings 2006-2009. The album featured live performances and some of Furman's solo efforts.
Furman released a label-free solo album titled The Year of No Returning after traveling in support of the Mysterious Power album. Furman used his Kickstarter's money to record and self-release the album. Initially scheduled for a February 2012 release, the album was delayed until May. At the year's conclusion, Furman inked a deal with Bar/None Records, which reissued The Year of No Returning in the summer of 2013.
October 2013 saw the release of Day of the Dog, a Furman album recorded at Studio Ballistico and issued by Bar/None Records. The Guardian gave Furman's record a perfect score (five stars) after hearing it. Furman scored the 2019 Netflix drama-comedy series Sex Education. Songs from her discography and original compositions for the concert make up the soundtrack. Episode 7 of the pilot season also included Furman and their band.
