Exile Information
Exile is an American band that formed in 1963. The group’s current lineup consists of J. P. Pennington, Les Taylor, Sonny LeMaire, Marlon Hargis, and Steve Goetzman. The band was a major rock band during the 1970s, with an influential hit single entitled “Kiss You All Over” in 1978. They went through several lineup changes throughout their career and eventually re-launched as a country act. The band moved to Lexington, Kentucky, and there they recorded several singles for small labels between 1968 and 1973.
In 1973, Exile released its self-titled debut studio album that was released on Wooden Nickel Records. In 1977, the band had a minor hit with “Try It On.” In 1978, the band signed another record deal with Warner Brothers and released their next album entitled “Mixed Emotions.” Before that, the group had already released Stage Pass on RCA Records.
Exile has released several studio albums since they have started creating music, including All There Is (1979), Don’t Leave Me This Way (1980), Heart and Soul (1981), Exile (1983), Kentucky Hearts (1984), Still Handling (1990), and Justice (1991).
There are several compilation albums released by Exile, including Greatest Hits (1986), The Best of Exile (1990), The Complete Collection (1991), Wrapped Up In Your Arms For Christmas (October 21, 2015), and the Garage Tapes (July 13, 2019). Countless singles have been recorded and released by the band.
