Everything Everything is a Manchester-based English art rock band that came together in the latter half of 2007. With seven albums, this band has received rave reviews for its intricate, avant-garde-influenced lyrics and varied sound. In addition to five Ivor Novello Award nominations, their music has been nominated thrice for the Mercury Music Prize.
Jonathan Higgs, who plays lead vocals, keyboards, laptop, and guitar, is originally from the border community of Gilsland in Northumberland, England. Michael Spearman, who plays drums and vocals, and Alex Niven, who plays guitars and vocals, are also from Newbrough. They first performed music together at Hexham's Queen Elizabeth High School.
Everything released their seventh studio album, Fountainhead, on March 1, 2024, as announced on October 27, 2023. An April and March 2024 UK tour was also confirmed. According to Higgs's interview with NME, the album was supposed to have no effects or plug-ins and was composed and recorded swiftly in response to Raw Data Feel. Alluding to a future when a civilization has dug a massive hole to form a mountain, the record has an underlying premise. Someone who thinks the mountain must continue to rise and the hole must continue to deepen is known as a mountainhead.
