Electric Fields Information
Electric Fields is an Aboriginal Australian electronic music duo. The current lineup consists of Michael Ross and Zaachariaha Fielding. The duo's self-titled debut EP was published in June of 2016; the title is a nod to the inma ceremony practiced by A'angu women. ABC Radio National host and producer Daniel Browning gushed, "Co-creating music that is as exciting as it is emotionally moving - the beauty and sheer power of their musicality is breathtaking."
Electric Fields' music spans from mainstream to epic-scale electronic pieces to very intimate story-songs, often using Zaachariaha's traditional languages of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people. Their music was featured on Triple J during the 2016 Spirit Festival and Adelaide Fashion Festival. The duo was honored for their unique sound and dedication to the music scene in South Australia with the 2016 Emily Burrows Award.
At the 2017 National Indigenous Music Awards, the duo took home the Best New Talent of the Year trophy. At this year's National Indigenous Music Awards, they were up for Artist of the Year. The pair were announced as a Eurovision - Australia Decides participant in December 2018 to represent Australia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
