Dwight Yoakam (October 23, 1956) is an American country actor, singer, songwriter, and film director born in Pikeville, Kentucky. Yoakam had already written many songs by 1984. Anderson then suggested that he assemble an EP with a few of them. He was not just the project's primary guitarist but also its producer, two responsibilities he would hold for the majority of Yoakam's career.
Dwight Yoakam became a country music star in 1986 when he released his first album called Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc. Etc.
