Django Walker Information
Django Walker (August 28, 1981) is a Texas Country singer and songwriter. Walker is the son of country music musicians Jerry Jeff Walker and Susan Walker, named after Belgian guitarist Django Reinhardt. At the age of 15, he began learning to play the guitar. He was a student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts from 1999 to 2001 after graduating from Austin High School in 1999 but did not graduate. He claims that the experience made him "a better musician," but he also learned much more while on the road.
Walker composed his first song, "The Road You Choose," when he was 16 years old and sang it on stage during his father's gigs. On his 1999 CD, Gypsy Songman, his father recorded it, and Django later produced his version. Down the Road, his band's debut CD was produced by Lloyd Maines and released in 2002. Walker released the album on his label, Lazy Kid Music. In five days, he recorded the CD and wrote all but one of the tracks. "Texas on My Mind," one of the tracks, was previously recorded by Pat Green and hit number one on the Texas Music Chart.
Six Trips Around the World, Walker's second CD, was published in 2006. Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish produced it, recorded at Bryan's home in South Carolina.
